The Join Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has changed the date for the commencement of the 2025/2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration which was scheduled to hold earlier than the new date.
The new JAMB registration date is 3rd of February, 2025. It was earlier announced start on Friday, 31 January, 2025 but had now been shifted.
According to a statement by JAMB’s Head of Public Affairs, Dr. Fabian Benjamin on Friday 31st January, 2025, this reschedule was necessary to enable to examination body organize things which need to be organized and also scrutinize some suspicious findings made by the body.
On the same day, 8 universities were suspended from admitting students into law programmes in the 2025/2026 admission process.
The Head of Public Affairs, JAMB also noted that they need to examine certain CTB centers which were reportedly approved illegally. This amounted to another reason and necessity for rescheduling the 2025 UTME registration date.
